BUSAN, South Korea - Hyundai unveiled its new compact Avante here in 2010 Busan Auto View. His best-selling model worldwide, the new Avante - sold on world markets as the Elantra - will have the company of other 1.6-liter gasoline direct-injection four-cylinder Gamma and a six-speed automatic transmission. The new sedan is expected to arrive in the U.S. later this year, dubbed the Elantra 2011.
The Gamma 1.6-GDI offers 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque and offers better fuel economy than many of its competitors with a conventional gasoline engine of similar size.
Among the available features of the new car in Korea are heated rear seats, puddle lamps, headlight high intensity discharge, LED taillights and a LCD information display in the instrument panel.
Hyundai said the new Avante will be released in the Korean market in the second half of the year.
